No Wave No Diego Policy Changes!! And! Introducing FALD!
Attention! Attention! This just in!!
We here at the No Wave No Diego headquarters have reached a new policy which we will initiate immediately, by executive decree! If you have been following our programme, then you know that every week we focused on a specific theme in music(this very blog is a testament to that). But, if you listened really closely (or maybe from a distant), then you would have noticed that we tend to focus on "new" (AKA "extreme" AKA "experimental" AKA "avant garde", etc) music a great deal of the time. And, occasionally, we would also play music that is very accessible, commercial, and fun.
Thus, the plan is to split the show in TWO, like a schism. The first hour of show will be "pop" music oriented (we loosely define pop as anything that is "tonal"). That show, dubbed "fuck art, let's dance!", will be hosted on http://faldksdt.blogspot.com/.
As for No Wave No Diego, we will continue doing shows but we will now focus solely on "new" music. Hopefully this way it will make everyone happy!!!
woohoo!
Shoot away any questions, whatever!
Merci,
HR of No Wave No Diego

KSDT updates

Just an update on what's been happening these past couple of weeks:
- KSDT's site went down and we lost the electroacoustic show that we did (le sigh).
- Last week KSDT had a little festival dubbed Shun God with tons of pretty good bands (obviously I'm biased towards my own duo M&M Blues)
- Also, check out the upcomming show:

NO WAVE

No Wave History:
1. Rock music becomes trendy because people think it sounds original and anti-establishment, though it is essentially tonal music with 4 chords.
2. Rock music becomes cliche and instead punk music becomes trendy because people think it sounds original and anti-establishment, though it is essentially tonal music with 4 chords.
3. Note bands like Ramones, Sex Pistols, Black Flag, the Clash, etc. are not too different from the Who, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, etc. (minus poor musicianship)
4. No Wave is the only genuine anti-art movement in this tradition.

Touch and Go didn't just have a lot of bands, but a lot of GOOD bands. Phenomenal stuff. To this day, groups like Mi Ami and Crystal Antlers are interesting and original. Touch and Go is no longer around. We reviewed some of the best groups they supported for nearly three decades.
